Team Owner Raymond Key On Verge Of Making A Driver Announcement For The No. 90 Chevy Impala.
Mooresville, NC (January 8, 2010) – Keyed-Up Motorsports, a new NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team making its debut in the 2010 Daytona 500, announced today it has narrowed its driver choices to a short list of strong candidates and will make its selection shortly.
Team owner Raymond Key, a prominent Virginia businessman, will make the final decision on the driver choice with input from NASCAR veteran Doug Richert, the No. 90 team’s newly-named crew chief. Richert’s vast experience as a top-level crew chief has made an immediate impact at the Keyed-Up race shop and he is heavily involved in the driver selection process.
Key has put together a Sprint Cup program with the goal of being competitive on the track and believes the pieces are falling right into place.
“I started Keyed-Up Motorsports with the intention to race competitively and I believe we have assembled a great group of professionals, from our guys at the shop to our management team.” said Key. “Keyed-Up’s No. 90 Chevy Impala will have a capable driver very soon and then we can focus our efforts on securing full season sponsorship.”
“On behalf of Keyed-Up Motorsports, I also want to thank the fans and the entire NASCAR community for the outpouring of support they’ve given our team over the past 2 months.” Key continued. “Their enthusiasm has been truly inspiring.”
